Don't you hate when life gets in the way of beading

Well on top of a crazy three months of uni work, I have had a crazy three months of pregnancy!! That's right number four is on his/her (please be a her) way. I finally wrote the last 1000 words of my uni assignment yesterday and I am hoping in the next fortnight to start some beading or to finish some UFOs. So watch this space............

Didn't win

Oh well, the winner was lovely but it's such a subjective thing, judging things like this. I would not have liked to have been the judges that is for sure. On to bigger and better things me thinks!

Freeform bead embroidery- Fruit of Passion

An example of being me. Lots of scribbly lines of beads, and colours that oppose each other on the colour wheel, and some bling :-).

What I have learnt this week

I need to just be me.....So who am I? I am messy, spur of the moment, colour conscious, some times dainty, some times chunky, always thoughtful and definately indecisive. That is me and I should let it reflect in my work. No more trying to emulate the people I admire so closely...The reason why I admire those people is because they are so very different to me and all can do things that I have either yet to master or never will master. I do really believe that I have talent and that this shows through when I just be me.....so repeat after me....just be me....

Collecting UFOs

In the beading world a UFO refers to an un-finished object. I am definately collecting UFOs. Although I like my beaded bead bracelet, I am not in the mood for it. I think it is because I tried to use muted colours and that is just not me! I have now moved onto bezeling around my beautiful Peruzi cab http://www.peruzi.net. She has some amazing and original stuff. I bought a blue square cab from her and haven't known what to do with it until now. I accidently came across a nice way to make a backing without having to peyote a full square. Hoping to finish it this weekend. That might be a bit ambitious though.

Boy oh boy oh boy

Sometimes I wonder why I do these things to myself, study, football, beading, reproducing! Three boys are a challenge but three year old boys are the BIGGEST challenge. This must be punishment because from all accounts I was the also very active as a little three year old , so maybe it's the DNA and not the chromosomes! Little L has been running around the house since stupid o'clock this morning and harrassing his brothers, drawing on his face with texta, and yelling "milk" in a crazy manner every 30 minutes or so.

I have so many beading ideas, way too little cash, and way way too little time. I have grand plans of both finishing a beaded bead braclet and making a similar necklace to the grape cordial one for my sister. The piece itself does not take too long it's just a matter of restocking.

My very first blog post

I have set up this blog to show off my beading but think that it might become a hodge podge of different thoughts and musing from me. I am a very busy mum of three boys, I love anything to do with forensics/criminology, and I love to bead (as you probably have established). I also won't complain ever about being invited to a party.
